Rams Tie CMSV; Earn #5 Seed for Playoffs

Yonkers, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team tied the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 1-1, in their regular season finale last night in Yonkers, N.Y. The Rams earned the fifth seed for the upcoming Skyline Conference Tournament.

Freshman forward Kevin Jardines (South Gate, Calif.) gave the Dolphins (12-5-2, 3-5-1) a 1-0 lead late in the first half with an unassisted score from eight yards out. Farmingdale State (8-6-3, 4-2-3) held an 8-4 shot advantage at the break.

The Rams tied the game in the 69th minute on a Matt Kirby (West Islip, N.Y.) goal off J.T. Famularo's (Levittown, N.Y.) corner kick.

After a pair of scoreless overtimes, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Senior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.) tallied nine saves for Farmingdale State, while freshman David Melchor (Los Angeles, Calif.) had 11 saves for Mount Saint Vincent.

The Rams will travel to fourth-seeded Maritime for the First Round of the Skyline Playoffs on Saturday, November 2nd.
