Quick Scores Lead Purchase Past Rams

Purchase, N.Y. - Two early Purchase goals led the Panthers to a 3-0 Skyline victory over Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon. The Rams fell to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while Purchase improved to 4-3-1, 1-0.

Junior midfielder Junior Sanguina (White Plains, N.Y.) scored to give Purchase a 1-0 lead only 5:40 into the game. With 27:24 remaining in the first half, sophomore forward Myles Clohessy (Cornwall, Conn.) increased the lead to 2-0 as Sanguina tallied the assist. The Panthers held a 9-4 shot advantage in the first half.

Sanguina scored his second goal of the game in the 82nd minute after being set up with a short pass in front from Eli Wilson-Berkowitz (Northampton, Mass.).

Senior goalie Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.) had six saves for the Rams, while sophomore Esteban Aguilar (East Hampton, N.Y.) stopped three shots in the victory.

Farmingdale State next will face York (NY) in a non-conference road match on Monday, September 23rd at 4:00 p.m.
