Rams Selected to Finish Fourth in Preseason Poll

New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team was selected to finish fourth in the Skyline Conference this season in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches. Last year the Rams posted an 8-9-2 record and fell on penalty kicks in the first round of the Skyline Playoffs.

Farmingdale State returns all-conference midfielder Renato Ipince (Lima, Peru) and goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.). Last season Viteritti led the Skyline in saves and shutouts and posted a .972 save percentage in conference matches, while ranking 18th in the nation in overall save percentage.

Coach Schimpf is entering his 11th season at the helm at Farmingdale State. The Rams 28-man roster in 2013 consists of 12 freshmen.

St. Joseph's was selected to win the conference finishing two votes ahead of runner-up The Sage Colleges. St. Joe's and Sage each received four first place votes.
