Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #9

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #9 on Monday, October 29, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Tennis Update (9-5, 5-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams entered the Skyline Playoffs as the #2 seed and defeated #3 St. Joe's in the semifinals, clinching the programs first-ever berth into the conference finals. Farmingdale State fell 5-0 at top-seeded Mount Saint Mary in the championship Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Denise Liguori (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) were each named to the Honor Roll this week.

Men's Soccer Update (8-9-2, 6-3 Skyline) - Full Report

Men's soccer entered the Skyline Playoffs as the fifth seed and traveled to #4 NYU-Poly for the quarterfinals. The Rams season came to an end as they fell on penalty kicks to the Fighting Blue Jays.

Junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll.

Women's Volleyball Update (12-11, 6-3 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams posted a 2-2 record this week winning both matches against Skyline Conference opponents. The women's volleyball team defeated St. Joe's 3-2 and notched a 3-0 win over Yeshiva.

Farmingdale State will travel to St. Joe's on Friday, November 2nd for the first round of the Skyline Playoffs at a time to be determined.

Freshman setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Pisciotta recorded 43 assists and nine digs as the Rams edged St. Joe's, 3-2. She had 78 assists and 24 digs over four matches this week. Sophomore outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) compiled 50 kills, 31 digs and nine aces.

Women's Soccer Update (11-7, 6-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's soccer team is the #2 seed entering the rescheduled Skyline Playoffs. The Rams will host St. Joseph's in the semifinals on Friday, November 2nd at a time to be determined.

Cross Country Update

The men's and women's cross country Skyline Championships, held at Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh, N.Y., have been postponed due to hurricane Sandy. The rescheduled date has not yet been determined
