Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #6

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #6 on Monday, October 8, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Volleyball Update (8-5, 3-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team won both matches this weekend picking up victories over Mount Saint Vincent and Old Westbury.

Sophomore outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week. She averaged 5.38 kills and 3.25 digs over eight sets and added eight service aces. Palladino registered 22 kills, five aces and 16 digs versus Mount Saint Vincent and 21 kills, five aces and 10 digs against Old Westbury.

Freshman Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) averaged 10.75 assists over eight sets as she was named to the Skyline Player of the Week Honor Roll.

This week the Rams travel to NYU-Poly for a conference match on Wednesday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m. and face Rutgers-Camden and Lehman in the Rutgers-Camden Tri-Match on Saturday, October 13th.

Women's Tennis Update (6-3, 3-1 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team split a pair of conference games this week as they picked up a 5-4 win over St. Joe's and fell 7-2 against Mount Saint Mary.

Freshman Denise Liguori (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll after she earned a 7-6, 7-6 victory at No. 4 singles and picked up an 8-4 win at second doubles in the loss to MSMC.

In singles action against St. Joe's, freshman Jessica Sickles (6-1, 6-0), senior Laura Earlie (6-2, 6-0) and senior Vanessa Josma (3-6, 6-3, 7-5) each picked up wins for the Rams.

This week the women's tennis team will play two matches out of conference as they travel to William Paterson on Wednesday, October 10th at 5:00 p.m. and host Brooklyn on Saturday, October 13th at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team finished in 5th place out of 10 teams at the Hamilton College Fall Invitational held at Yahnundasis Golf Club and the Skenandoa Club.

The Rams shot a team-total of 321 at Yahnundasis and a 308 at Skenandoa for a two-day total of 629. Junior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) finished in a tie for eighth place individually after shooting rounds of 77 and 78.

This week the team will play in the Hudson National Fall Classic hosted by NYU and Manhattanville on Sunday, October 14th and Monday, October 15th.

Women's Soccer Update (7-6, 2-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams split their conference games this week, defeating Old Westbury 3-0 and falling to Mount Saint Mary 2-1.

Against Old Westbury, senior forward Corine Magee (Mastic, N.Y.) tallied a goal and two assists, while freshman forward Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals. They were both named to the Skyline Honor Roll for their play last week.

This week, Farmingdale State travels to Purchase on Tuesday, October 9th at 7:00 p.m., Ithaca on Saturday, October 13th at 1:00 p.m. and hosts NYU-Poly on Sunday, October 14th at 12:00 p.m.

Men's Soccer Update (5-7-1, 3-2 Skyline) - Full Report

The men’s soccer team dropped two conference games last week, Old Westbury 1-0 and Mount Saint Mary 3-1.

Rams junior keeper Angelo Viterritti (East Northport, N.Y.) made eight saves versus the Panthers, while senior goalie Ricky Meschkow (Plainview, N.Y.) made seven saves against the Knights.

The Rams host two Skyline games this week - Purchase on Wednesday, October 10th at 4:00 p.m. and NYU-Poly on Saturday, October 13th at 12:00 p.m.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The men's and women's cross country teams did not compete this past week.

Farmingdale State will next run on October 14th at the St. John's Fall Cross Country Festival at Cunningham Park in Queens, N.Y.
