Skyline Releases Fall Weekly Report #4

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #4 on Monday, September 24, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.

Women's Volleyball Update (6-3, 2-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's volleyball team won both matches in their home Skyline Conference play date this weekend. The Rams are now tied atop the Skyline with an undefeated record in conference play.

Freshman setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors after tallying 45 assists in six sets as Farmingdale State posted wins over Purchase (3-0) and Maritime (3-0). She notched 21 assists against Maritime and 24 assists versus Purchase and added four service aces and four digs.

Sophomore outside Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), who was named to the Honor Roll,  had a team-leading 21 kills and 12 digs this weekend.

This week the Rams will play Hunter at 4:00 p.m. and Mount Saint Vincent at 6:00 p.m. in the Hunter College Tri-Match on Saturday, September 29th.

Men's Soccer Update (3-5-1, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The men's soccer team notched a 0-0 double overtime tie at Albertus Magnus on Sunday. Junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll after recording 10 saves in 110:00 of action at Albertus Magnus. Viteritti also stopped four shots against York (NY) earlier in the week as he now tallied his third shutout in his last four games in goal.

This week they host St. Joseph's in on Wednesday, September 26th at 4:00 p.m. and Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, September 29th at noon in a pair of conference games.

Men's Golf Update

The men's golf team finished in fifth place out of 17 teams at the Dowling College Shootout held at Long Island National Golf Club in Riverhead, N.Y. Farmingdale State, the only Division III team in the field, shot rounds of 310 and 315 for a two-day total of 625. Junior Adam Larkin (Bellmore, N.Y.) finished in a tie for sixth place individually after carding rounds of 76 and 73.

This week the team hosts their Skyline Conference Invitational at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course on Friday, September 28th.

Women's Tennis Update (3-2, 1-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The women's tennis team played one match this week and fell 7-2 to non-conference opponent Oneonta State.

Sophomore Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory at #1 singles, while sophomore Alex Lebrun (Freeport, N.Y.) picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at second singles.

This week the women's tennis team will play three road matches. They play CCNY at SUNY Purchase on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., York (NY) on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. and Sage on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Women's Soccer Update (4-4, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report

The Rams went 1-1 this week, defeating Manhattanville 3-0 and dropping a road match at NYU.

Senior forward Christina Merrill (Levittown, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals and assisted Farmingdale State's other goal in the win over Manhattanville. Merrill was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll.

This week the women's soccer team travels to St. Joe's on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., will host Scranton on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and then travel to Mount Saint Vincent on Sunday at a time to be determined.

Cross Country Update - Full Report

The men's and women's cross country teams did not compete this past week.

After a week hiatus, Farmingdale State will run at the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational held at Chadwich Lake Park in Newburgh, N.Y. on Saturday, September 29th.
