Rams Shutout Yeshiva for Skyline Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team defeated Yeshiva University 5-0 this afternoon to earn their first Skyline Conference win of the season. The Rams improved to 2-4 overall, while the Maccabees fell to 0-3.

Farmingdale State struck first as junior forward Joe Lipsky (Plainview, N.Y.) connected on a pass from freshman midfielder Michael Vultaggio (Massapequa, N.Y.) to take a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute.

In the second half, senior midfielder Brian Anderson (Massapequa, N.Y.) made his second penalty kick of the year for a 2-0 lead. An own goal would make the score 3-0, followed by scores from freshman forward Orlandy Charleston (Rosedale, N.Y.) and freshman defender Luciano Staffa (Farmingdale, N.Y.).

Rams junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) recorded four saves in the win, while senior keeper Joseph Blechner (Brookline, Mass.) stopped eight shots in defeat.

The Rams will travel next to Staten Island for a non-conference game on Saturday, September 15 th at 3:00p.m.
