Famularo Scores Golden Goal in 2OT for Rams

Farmingdale State - 1, Potsdam State -0 (2OT)


Farmingdale, N.Y. - Freshman midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) scored the lone goal of the game in the 109th minute to give the Farmingdale State men's soccer team a double-overtime victory over Potsdam State. The Rams improved to 1-4 overall, while the Bears dropped to 2-2.

Potsdam controlled the first half with an 8-4 shot advantage, while Farmingdale controlled the second half with the 8-4 shot advantage, forcing sudden death overtime period.

In the first overtime, Potsdam took two shots with a save from Rams senior goalkeeper Ricky Meschkow (Plainview, N.Y.), while Farmingdale's offense was able to get one shot on in another scoreless period.

Famularo's goal came at 108:59 as the Rams marched down the field and he took the shot from the left side into the bottom right corner. This marked his first career collegiate goal.

Meschkow finished with eight saves for the game, while Potsdam's senior goalkeeper Joseph Glackin (Latham, N.Y.) made eight saves in defeat.

The Rams will host Yeshiva University on Wednesday, September 12th in a Skyline Conference game at 4:00 p.m.
