Skyline Releases Spring Weekly Report #6

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the spring report for the 2011-12 season on Tuesday, April 10, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for baseball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, softball, and men's tennis.

Baseball Update - Full Report

The baseball team played one game this week and defeated Briarcliffe, 9-5, in a non-conference game.

Senior third baseman Ryan McAllister (Miller Place, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. McAllister's 3-run homerun in the top of the ninth broke a 5-5 tie and led the Rams to a 9-5 victory over Briarcliffe.

Men's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

The Rams traveled to Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 4th and fell, 9-4, in a non-conference matchup. This week Farmingdale State will host Richard Stockton on senior day on Saturday, April 14th at 1:00 p.m.

Women's Lacrosse Update - Full Report

Farmingdale State defeated St. Joe's, 11-5, in their lone game this week. Freshman midfielder Christy Thoden (Bayport, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. Thoden scored two goals (including the game winner), caused six turnovers and had three draw controls.

This week the Rams will host Ramapo on Thursday, April 12th at 4:00 p.m. and then travel to Kean on Saturday, April 14th at 4:00 p.m. in a pair of Skyline Conference games.

Softball Update - Full Report

The softball team posted a 3-1 record this week with a split against Baruch and a sweep of John Jay.

Freshman OF/1B Michelle Mongiello (Elmont, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. She batted .615 with two hits in each of Farmingdale State's four games. Mongiello scored five runs and added a double and an RBI. Junior C/2B Jennifer Jarczynski (West Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Jarczynski batted .636, with five doubles, a homerun and 7 RBI.

The Rams will host Mount Saint Vincent (senior day) on Saturday, April 14th at noon.

Men's Tennis Update - Full Report

Farmingdale State picked up wins over Mount Saint Mary College and Merchant Marine in a 2-1 week.

Sophomore Christian Bormann (Huntington, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week and freshman Justin Vijungco (Forest Hills, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors. Bormann won all three singles matches, dropping only one game as he raised his record to 5-1. He also posted a 2-1 record in doubles competition. Vijungco won 2-of-3 matches in both singles and doubles this week. He now holds a 4-2 record at #1 singles.

This weekend the Rams will host Sage on Saturday, April 14th at 1:00 p.m. and Dowling on Sunday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m.
