Rams Split with Frostburg for First Win of Season

Farmingdale, NY - The Rams improved to 1-6 today after splitting a home double-header with Frostburg State (5-5) at Farmingdale State's new baseball stadium in Farmingdale, NY.

In game one, Frostburg State junior pitcher Mike Tiller (Dumfries, VA/Potomac) allowed one hit in six innings to lead the Bobcats to a 7-1 victory. Sophomore centerfielder Jordan Crystal (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) and sophomore catcher Joe Daddura (Fallston, MD/Calvert Hall) had two hits each for Frostburg, while sophomore pinch hitter Allen Peake (Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford) knocked in three runs. Senior first basemen Jeremy Small (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) and junior catcher Bryan Ciminelli (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) had the only hits for the Rams.

Game two was all Farmingdale, as they found the bats for six extra base hits, including a homerun by junior outfielder Nick Barone (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon), to win their first game of the season 9-2. Sophomore pitcher Jesse Scott (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) threw a complete game for the Rams, allowing seven hits and striking out three. Junior second basemen Ryan Pembroke (Wading River, NY/Shoreham Wading River) finished 2-for-4 with a triple and four runs batted in, while sophomore outfielder Rich Santoro (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) went 3-for-4 with a double.

The Rams host New Jersey City University tomorrow in a non-conference double-header starting at noon.
