FSC Winter Athletics Update #6

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its sixth winter weekly awards Tuesday morning, and two Farmingdale State College basketball student-athletes were recognized.

Men's Basketball (7-3, 3-0 Skyline) | Skyline report

The men's basketball team lost a pair of non-conference contests last week, falling to Union (N.Y.) College, 74-71, and New Jersey City, 68-50.

Senior guard Corey Powell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week after averaging 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest. He tallied a game and season-high 20 points versus Union, to go along with four rebounds, one assist and one steal. At NJCU, he registered eight points, six rebounds and one assist.

Freshman forward Macai John (Hauppauge, N.Y.) was tabbed to the Honor Roll after shooting 5-for-5 from the floor for 12 points on the week.

FSC next heads to the Trinity College Holiday Invitational where they will first play Endicott on Friday, December 30th at 7:30 p.m.

Women's Basketball (3-7, 2-4 Skyline) | Skyline report

After having the week off, the Rams return to action when they play non-conference opponent Hunter College on Friday, December 30th at 12:00 p.m.
