NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its fifth winter weekly awards Tuesday morning, and one Farmingdale State College basketball student-athlete collected weekly honor roll kudos.

Men's Basketball (7-1, 3-0 Skyline) | Skyline report

The Rams registered a pair of home Skyline Conference victories last week in come-from-behind action, besting St. Joseph's-Long Island, 66-63, midweek before capturing an overtime decision on CYO Day Saturday over Mount Saint Vincent, 85-79, to run their winning streak to seven games.

Senior Nick Hurowitz (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) was cited on the conference's weekly honor roll for the second time this season, after pouring in a career- and game-high 31 points on the weekend versus the Dolphins in which his clutch free-throw shooting (15-of-16; 6-of-6 in overtime) locked up the 85-79 decision.

Head coach Brendan Twomey's side plays host to Union (N.Y.) in non-conference play Tuesday night at 7 p.m., before wrapping up pre-holiday play on the road Saturday at New Jersey City (6 p.m. tip-off).

Women's Basketball (3-7, 2-4 Skyline) | Skyline report

Farmingdale State suffered a pair of pre-final-exam setbacks in conference action to Skyline mainstays Merchant Marine and Manhattanville on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.

Head coach Mark Dellecave's Rams are back in action Dec. 30, when they play host to a noon matinee with a non-conference tilt against Hunter College.

Toys for Tots drive a massive success

Thanks from the FSC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee go out to all of the student-athletes, family, friends and fans who donated to its Toys for Tots drive, which wrapped up Monday night. Through the community's generosity, three full collection boxes will be delivered later this week to the United States Marine Corps, which is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its Toys for Tots initiative in 2022, for donation to local youth in time for the upcoming holidays.

Final exam and holiday wishes

Farmingdale State's department of athletics wishes the College's students, and student-athletes, the best of luck on final exams this week. Additionally, with festive holidays commencing later this coming weekend, FSC extends its wishes for a happy, and safe, holiday season to all of you and your loved ones.
