Purchase, N.Y. - Sophomore pitcher Christina Loeffler (East Meadow, N.Y.) tossed a no-hitter in game two as the Farmingdale State softball team earned 15-0 and 17-0 victories at Purchase this afternoon for the Skyline Conference doubleheader sweep.
In game one, FSC (8-3, 8-2 Skyline) scored 15 runs on 15 hits.
Sophomore catcher Lyndsey Shaw (Sayville, N.Y.) was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, home run, three runs scored and game-high 4 RBI for the Rams. Sophomore center fielder Priscilla Rivera (Brentwood, N.Y.) had three hits in five at-bats and scored four runs, while junior second baseman Amaris Negron (Central Islip, N.Y.) added three hits and scored twice. Freshman third baseman Brooke Walker (Brentwood, N.Y.) had three doubles, 2 RBI and scored a run in the victory.
On the mound, sophomore Allie Stanya (Babylon, N.Y.) picked up the win and improved to 6-1 after a complete game one-hitter with a career-high 13 strikeouts.
In the second game, Farmingdale State scored a season-high 17 runs on 16 hits.
Shaw was 4-for-5 at the plate with a double, two runs scored and 3 RBI, while Walker had three hits, including a pair of doubles, a run batted in and a game-high four runs scored. Sophomore right fielder Julianna Prescia (Oakdale, N.Y.) and sophomore shortstop Jessica Clark (Selden, N.Y.) each added two hits in the win for FSC.
Loeffler (2-1) struck out eight and allowed only one base runner in her no-hit effort.
Farmingdale State next will host Purchase (0-18, 0-14) in a single-game on Sunday, April 25th at 3:00 p.m.
