Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State men's
soccer team remained undefeated in the Skyline Conference with a
4-0 victory against Bard College (2-4, 0-1 Skyline) today in
Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 2-4, 2-0 in the conference
with the win. The game-winner came with one second remaining in the
first half as Farmingdale's sophomore defender Marcos Cipra (Long
Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) launched a shot from 30-yards out that
carried to the goal and slipped past the goalie for a 1-0 halftime
lead.
The last three goals came in the second, first from junior forward Prince Eltosam (Bronx, N.Y./Christopher Columbus) assisted by junior midfielder Thomas Mueller (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon). The third was an own goal by Bard and the final goal of the game came from senior midfielder Andrew Jardine (Centereach, N.Y./Our Saviour New American).
Rams sophomore goalkeeper Patric Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) made one save for the shutout win, while Bard’s junior goalkeeper Steven Stevenson (Seattle, Wash./Northwest) made eight saves in defeat.
Farmingdale State will host Drew University on Thursday, September 27th at 4:00 p.m. for a non-conference game.
